'Style' does not excuse bad anatomy.
One of the most degrading and irritating thing an artist can say in defense of his/her work is, "It's my style! It's meant to look like that!" I understand that sometimes - sometimes - style can change anatomy and it can have varying effects on the art, but using "style" as an excuse is lazy and stupid. Style shouldn't automatically be the go-to reason for something to look the way it is. Style should only be something that subtly defines one artist's work from another.
While I'm here, I ought to define the difference between "style" and "stylization".
Style: An artist's way of drawing that makes him or her stand out from another artist.
